Wedding Officiant Agreement /Contract

Agreement / Contract, for wedding officiant services from Minister Kevin Bullock of Kevin's "I Do's"

General Policies:

The couple understands that they are hiring the services of Minister Kevin Bullock, an independent minister ordained and authorized to perform the rite of marriage in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

The couple is required to pay (1/2) of the agreed upon amount at the time of booking, as a NON-REFUNDABLE retainer for my services and to reserve your wedding date. The remaining balance must be paid at least 15 CALENDAR DAYS prior to your wedding date. Upon your signature(s) and receipt of the deposit or full payment, Minister Kevin Bullock will reserve the date(s) and time(s) agreed upon.

Payment Terms:

Only check, cash or money order will be accepted without you occurring additional fees. Payments by credit/debit, Venmo or other online applications will incur additional processing fees. Please make any check or money order payable to Kevin Bullock. *Please refer to the Returned Check policy outlined below. The couple understands that if their account is not paid in FULL within 15 DAYS of the actual wedding date, Minister Kevin Bullock will NOT attend or perform our wedding. 

Returned check fee:

The couple will be responsible for any and all expenses incurred by Minister Kevin Bullock as a result of a returned check fee including any and all bank and or legal fees. The current base fee for a returned check is $60.

Refusal of Service:

Minister Bullock reserves the right to refuse ANY service that he is NOT comfortable performing.

Appearance of Attire:

Minister Bullock is prepared to dress in a manner that suites the style of your ceremony, provided it allows him to present a dignified image in keeping with the character of the rite of matrimony.

EMERGENCIES:

The couple FULLY understands and AGREES that Minister Bullock shall NOT be responsible or held liable in the event that Minister Bullock is prohibited from performing the couple’s ceremony due to illness, hospitalization, auto accident, transportation breakdown/disruption, traffic difficulties, acts of GOD such as inclement weather or other unforeseen incapacitation or other cause of NO arrival on the day of the ceremony. Minister Kevin Bullock will make every effort to provide a substitute officiant who can perform a ceremony if time and resources permit.

Minister Bullock will also TRY to accommodate the couple should they have to change their wedding date for the above reasons.

The couple understands they MUST provide a VALID Kentucky marriage license and shall provide such marriage license to Minister Bullock to review PRIOR to the ceremony. Minister Bullock CANNOT and WILL NOT perform ANY ceremony without the valid marriage license.

Changes to this agreement:

This agreement is valid for the ceremony for the place, date and time above, and ANY changes MUST be agreed to AHEAD of time by Minister Bullock.

Scheduled Time of the Ceremony:

You MUST start your ceremony within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time. I may have other commitments scheduled for that day. If your wedding starts LATE and conflicts with my schedule to meet my other commitments, I may not be able to perform your wedding. *Please refer to the emergencies, cancellations, or postponements if this situation should apply. If I am able to continue with your ceremony AFTER the 15-minute delay, you AGREE to compensate me for my time at the rate of $25.00 per (EACH) 15-minute time segment, until the ceremony is completed, and the marriage license has been duly signed.

Cancellation / Refund Policy:

This agreement / contract locks Minister Kevin Bullock to the couple’s date and time of their ceremony; thus, blocking Minister Bullock from booking another couple for the same date and time. For this purpose, if for ANY reason the couple decides NOT to use Minister Bullock the couple MUST inform Minister Bullock in WRITING by email 15 days PRIOR to the date of the ceremony to release the couple from this agreement / contract.

In the event of cancellation, the couple understands that one-half of the amount that has been paid as the retainer is NON-REFUNDABLE. However, if Minister Bullock cancels the wedding, the couple will receive a 100% full refund on all payments, unless he can provide a suitable substitute minister to officiate the wedding ceremony. The fair principle being that whoever cancels loses the deposit. For cancellations within 14 days of the wedding date, there is NO REFUND, and 100% of this agreement / contract will become due Minister Bullock.

Postponement:

As situations arise / occur, it may be necessary for the couple to postpone their wedding for a later date. The couple MUST inform Minister Bullock in writing as soon as the postponement is realized. Minister Bullock will make every effort to book another date for the couple.

Outdoor Ceremonies:

If the ceremony is scheduled as an outdoor event and weather conditions pose difficulty to have a ceremony outdoors it is the responsibility of the couple to find an alternative location for the ceremony.

Photographs:

Minister Bullock gives the couple permission to use his likeness in any photographs, videos or other recording media. The couple also give permission to Minister Bullock to use their likeness in any photographs, videos or other recording media in any manor for any purposes he wishes.

Microphone / Additional Equipment:

Minister Bullock does not offer / provide a microphone or audible / DJ services. Minister Bullock does not offer / provide a podium. Please confer with the venue or a DJ of your liking for this service / equipment.
